The post of Company Secretary is a position of special prestige in any company.  Every year the examination is conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India for admission to the Company Secretary courses.  For the post of Company Secretary, one has to clear the three-stage examination.  Here we are discussing the executive stage of the company secretary post.  Aspirants who are going to appear in the CS Executive exam 2022 must be aware of the new pattern of this exam.

What is a Company Secretary?
 
Company Secretary is a very important position in any company.  A company secretary is an officer who has to ensure compliance with the statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements within the company.  The main responsibility of the Company Secretary is that the various rules of the Government of India have properly complied with in the company.  The Company Secretary provides legal information to the directors and other senior officers of the company concerned.  The Company Secretary ensures the due implementation of the decisions made and taken by the directors of the company.  He also ensures the maintenance of miscellaneous records of the company.  The Company Secretary also interacts with the shareholders regarding various rules and decisions.

How many stages are there in becoming a company secretary?

1. The first phase is of foundation program, in which 12th passed students can participate.

2. The second stage is the executive program, in which a candidate who has passed the foundation program or graduation can participate.

3. The third stage is of Fundamental Programme, in which only the candidates who have passed the Executive Program can participate.

What are the highlights of the pattern of Cs executive exam 2022?

As per the official website of Institute of Company Secretaries of India, CS Executive exam 2022 will be held in offline mode at the prescribed exam center. The CS Executive exam 2022 will have two modules. There will be eight papers in each module. The duration of each paper will be of 3 hours. The questions will be asked in both objective and subjective types. 100 questions will be asked per paper.  There will be no negative marking for the subjective questions in this exam. But for objective type questions, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
For each correct answer the candidate will get one mark.

What is the type of questions?

 module 1:

Jurisprudence, interpretation and general law- descriptive

Company law- descrptive

Setting up of business entities and closure- descriptive

Tax laws - objective

Module 2:

Securities laws and capital markets- descriptive

Economic, business and commercial laws- descriptive

Corporate and management accounting - objective

Financial and strategic management - objective

What is the medium?

The medium of choice for CS Executive exam 2022 is Hindi or English by the candidate.  However, English is mandatory for business management, accounting, ethics and communication, tax laws and practice, cost, corporate and management, and accounting, financial and strategic management papers.
 
What is passing criteria in cs executive exam?

To pass the CS Executive exam a candidate has to obtain at least 40% marks in each paper in both the modules and aggregate 50% in all the question papers.  Candidate who will secure marks as per the official passing criteria will only be treated as pass for the next level CS professional exam.
